This salted caramel fudge is filled with rich buttery caramel flavour with a soft and chewy texture. You only require 5 ingredients, a saucepan, and a stove. Salted caramel fudge reminds me of the caramel candies I used to eat as a child. I was a fan of the flavour but the rock-hard texture wasn’t my thing. And this is precisely the main reason that I am in love with salted caramel fudge. The soft and chewy texture of the fudge is to die for.

And making this delectable treat is easy too. You just need five ingredients. Melt and combine them in a saucepan which will take about 10 minutes of effort and let them chill in the refrigerator for a few hours. Making this salted caramel fudge is this easy.

How to make salted caramel fudge?

  • In a saucepan melt your butter, brown sugar, and, sweetened condensed milk.
  • Once the mixture is smooth and combined, let it come to a boil.
  • Once the mixture thickens, stir in the white chocolate. Pour mixture into a square cake pan that’s been lined with baking or parchment paper. Sprinkle the top with sea salt.
  • Place fudge in the fridge to set.
  •  Then slice into small squares. 

How to store salted caramel fudge?

It’s best to store salted caramel fudge in the fridge. Place the fudge in an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

These can also be frozen. Place them in an airtight container and place them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Fudge that has been frozen can be eaten straight from the freezer as, although it will be very firm, it will never freeze rock solid. Frozen fudge should be thawed in the fridge and kept in the fridge thereafter.

Tips

  1. Use a heavy-bottomed saucepan to ensure that the caramel doesn’t burn or stick to the pan.
  2. While the ingredients are on the stove make sure to stir constantly so the caramel doesn’t stick to the pan.
  3. Place the fudge to set in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours but for better results leave overnight.

Ingredients
  

  • 90 g Butter ½ cup
  • 130 g Brown Sugar ½ cup
  • 285 g Condensed Milk (Sweetened) ¾ cup
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 100 g White chocolate (chopped) ¾ cup

Instructions
 

  • 1. Line an 8-inch square pan with butter/parchment paper.
  • 2. In a saucepan, add sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, and, butter.
  • 3. Place on medium heat and stir together until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture simmers and starts to thicken.  
  • 4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in all the white chocolate.
  • 5. Pour the fudge into the prepared tin. Smooth the top and sprinkle salt all over the top.
  • 6. Place in the fridge for 3-4 hours to set or even better, overnight. Cut into thick squares to serve. Store fudge in the fridge.
