Chocolate peanut butter balls have hardened chocolate as the outer shell and a creamy and smooth peanut butter mixture as the inner core. Not only the flavours but the texture of hard and soft complement each other very well.
The inner soft and chewy part is created with a combination of peanut butter, sugar, and butter. These not only make a smooth mixture but also balance the flavour and taste of each other.
This treat is perfect for people who don’t have enough time to cook. All they require is time to freeze. Even though peanut butter balls are a festive season treat they can be made and enjoyed anytime.

How to make chocolate peanut butter balls
- Gather all ingredients.
- Place a wire rack or mesh tray over a tray or pan which has little depth to it.
- In a bowl mix peanut butter and butter together till smooth and well incorporated.
- In the mixture add sugar little by little till it forms a dough.
- Make small balls from the dough and set it aside.
- Melt dark chocolate in a double boiler. Set it aside till it cools down slightly.
- Use a fork or toothpick to dip the peanut butter balls in chocolate.
- Place the dipped balls on the mesh tray prepared earlier so the excess chocolate can drain off.
- Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from the wire rack and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
These balls can be stored in refrigerator for up to 1 month and in freezer up to 2-3 months.
You can use dark chocolate chips instead of dark chopped chocolate. Chocolate chips have stabilizers to help the chips hold their shape due to which choco chips may take extra time to melt but they will set much better.
If you want to experiment use different types of nut butter like almond, cashew etc. You can also add different type of nuts to take this recipe to next level.
